About the Instructor, Louise:
I’ve been making jewelry since my 9th birthday party at the Bead Merchant in my hometown, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Years later, I moved to Lawrence to study music, but after two years I realized I needed a change and transitioned to a degree in metalsmithing. The first time I held a torch was the last time I strung beads. For the last 5 years I’ve been working at Jewelry by Design in Prairie Village, honing my skills, working with fine materials, and experimenting with casting organic objects. I miss the collaborative energy of a metals studio filled with students and the sound of makers at work and I look forward to helping with your journey with metals!
