This workshop is a great way to take your metalsmithing skills to the next level. You’ll learn the important considerations to make when soldering and setting multiple stones. With only 4 participants in class, you get excellent personal attention & instruction in this masterclass. It’s also a ton of fun and can simply be a great experience. Because this workshop is a little more involved than our others, you must have attended at least two previous Alloy workshops.
Must be at least 18 years old to participate. Please note, tickets are NON REFUNDABLE for any reason. Please be sure you are able to attend the event(s) time and date before purchasing.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR, LOUISE:
I’ve been making jewelry since my 9th birthday party at the Bead Merchant in my hometown, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Years later, I moved to Lawrence to study music, but transitioned to a degree in metalsmithing. The first time I held a torch was the last time I strung beads. After school, I started an apprenticeship at Jewelry by Design in Prairie Village. I specialize in casting, diamond setting, and all things goldsmithing. My favorite part of teaching at Alloy is experiencing the collaborative energy of a metals studio filled with students and the sound of makers at work. I look forward to helping with your journey with metals!
