studio monitor hours

Every Wednesday from 10am-1pm & 4pm-7pm, one of our dedicated Alloy teachers is on duty to help support our Shared Studio and Designated Studio Members in the studio!

Are you a new member feeling a little unsure about starting up the torch again? Missing the camaraderie of your metalsmithing class? Wishing you could just get a little in person feedback on a project you’re working on? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Studio Monitor Hours is for you!

studio monitor hours are GREAT if you are looking for:

Constructive Feedback on a project

Sometimes a second opinion on a design, or feedback on that stone you set can really help you grow in your ability. Metalsmithing is hard, but you’re not in this alone! We’re here to help you through this thing.

Help finding the perfect book in the Resource Library

So you’ve spent the last 42 hours down the instagram rabbit hole and you’re determined to learn the ins and outs of a new technique—Our teachers can help you find exactly what you’re looking for on the shelves of our library! From fold-forming to hinge making, if it’s not on our shelves, we’ll point you in the right direction.

Shopping support

Let us assist you with your next purchase! Our store is full of our favorite tools and materials. If you aren’t totally sure what supplies you need for the project you’re working on, we’d love to give you our recommendation.

Guidance using all our shared studio tools

It’s been a minute since you lit that torch up. Feeling a little nervous? We are here to give you the confidence boost you need to feel comfortable working with all the tools in the studio. Curious about that weird looking mechanism on the counter? Let us show you how it works and how it might help you with your next project!

Community!

Our community here is filled with nerds of all flavors! Silversmiths, Goldsmiths, Lapidary Artists, Art Metals, Enamalists and Casting Fiends—While we may not have the ability to facilitate every component of the jewelry making world in our studio, that shouldn’t hold you back from making the connections with folks that are into what YOU are into! Join the fun and find new friends—maybe you’ll discover your next obsession!

Friendship, Laughter, High-Fives, Willy Nelson and the occasional tamalé run!

Alloy is brimming with loving, supportive folks that are here to CHEER YOU ON! You are unique and have something special to offer to this community. If you’re in need of a hug, or high-five after that stressful stone setting ordeal, we’ve got you covered. Share your favorite tunes with us—And if you’re lucky, you may get a spicy tamalé every once in a blue moon!

We’ve built a special metal family here at Alloy, and we’d love for you to be a part of it. Wednesdays are fun and inspiring at studios 623 & 625!

Are you a member asking “How do I sign up”?!

Don’t fret! It’s super easy. No special booking is required—Just log in to your account and reserve your bench time as usual and select a time during studio monitor hours (Wednesdays 10-1 & 4-7).
